Process of professional invention
In order to produce viable results in the world of professional invention, or "Invention on Demand", one must be exceptionally skilled in the four disciplines of product development. Effective, intuitive, and creative sensibility depends upon the support of these disciplines.
After many years of creating and bringing products of all sorts to the market, I have realized that the inspiration, or moment of creative epiphany, is the most important part of the process. Hence, I call myself an inventor, rather than "designer", "engineer", or "product developer". However, an inherent gift for creativity cannot stand alone to produce solid commercial results. Like a four-legged stool, one leg is design, one is engineering, one is manufacturing and one is marketing. Singly, none of these disciplines can produce a viable end product. The mastery of each of these skills is essential for a successful result.
